Job Vacancies

Closing date extended to 7/2/22
Date to return application forms extended to 15/2/22 due to postal delays.

We are recruiting learning disability support worker positions in Newton Aycliffe, 1x full time (40 hr) and 2x 30 hours per week. (positions can be full time for the right applicant).

These positions include either occasional or regular sleeping in duties and the waking hourly rate of pay is £9.50 per hour for all age groups. (Sleepin is currently paid at a flat rate of £30 per night plus any time worked at the day rate). Please don’t compare our rates of pay to adverts for home care jobs because those positions don’t pay the advertised hourly rate for the entire time you are working during the day. In a small care home you are paid the full hourly rate from walking in to leaving unless you are asleep in bed here in your own bedroom where you get paid to be asleep.

Oswald House is a group of four fairly ordinary family houses that all accommodate only three people and one larger house where seven people live. We do not work with people who physically challenge regularly. Our client group enjoy ordinary lives and need staff who can support them to feel included, valued and happy. They like home cooked  meals (and the odd takeaway) and a relaxed, low stress environment. If you feel comfortable in a kitchen, have common sense and are accepting of others regardless of their limitations then you are what we are looking for.

Closing date will be 31/1/22* (*extended to 7/2/22 after adding a full time position) but we are keen to get staff into post so will be interviewing suitably qualified candidates as soon as the right application form arrives.

You must meet the current government vaccine criteria and being able to work and live in a Covid safe way is an essential quality for these positions.

Interested parties should download or request an application form and complete it in their own handwriting.

Previous experience, a recognised care qualification and a driving license are desirable but not essential as we can provide full care training.

Please avoid ringing the home directly about job vacancies.

In keeping with current national guidelines you should not visit any of our care homes without prior agreement.
